On June 28th 2019 a bomb squad blew up what remained of Morandi Bridge. Air quality, monitored by ARPAL, has allowed the 3400 evacuated to return to their homes soon after the explosion, with no risk to breath contaminated air by asbestos particles. Although the lack of cover and the wind brought the dust cloud towards Certosa and Rivarolo, it was largely breathed by non-evacuated residents.
